This Adidas 360 Traxion golf shoe was part of a challenge to spend a maximum of $60 to purchase a top brand golf shoe online based solely on reviews and pricing...

For under $60 it seemed a safe way to 'test the waters' and get some landing as to whether there was any substance in the 'spikeless evolution'.

It also did not help that it was the last item and being a popular shoe in a size 14, with very limited availability, this opportunity was not to be missed!

I decided it was worth taking the plunge - paying then waiting anxiously for delivery, all the while lowering expectations for my 'blind' purchase with more questions than answers ringing in my head.

Right out of the box, I must confess I was expecting this to be one of those 'comme ci comme ca' shoes (nothing special) - but was pleasantly surprised as I immediately noticed it was lighter than my previous pairs of golf shoes and it felt good on the feet.

You see, I was a 100% spikes golfer and considered spikeless shoes as a lite version of the real thing. I dare say it even felt more balanced than my spiked golf shoes did.

The best description of the styling is a semi-contemporary golf shoe that looks and feels like a cross-trainer - an awesome blend of traditional styling with a modern cross-trainer look.

On the course, it was a bit of a beast, ate up everything except in the hazard...that is when I experienced first-hand some of the limitations of spikeless shoes because I just didn't feel planted and might have even switched to spikes if any were available.

At the end of the round, I found myself on hole 19 and realised that this baby felt so comfortable that I had completely forgotten about visiting the changing room.

Performance-wise the Adidas 360 Traxion golf shoe checked all the boxes and redefined my comfort levels to a new high... I simply had never felt that much comfort wearing golf shoes.

The insoles are also removable. It is rated as waterproof and is water-resistant capable - has kept me dry except for the wettest of days - those real torrential downpours that you start to rehearse thunderstorm protocols and pray that thunderstorms don't materialise.

Having played several rounds of golf in these, if there are any weak points then maybe the reduced traction in the wet or uneven terrain, which I have come to accept as some of the limitations of spikeless shoes but interestingly some other golfers say they don't experience reduced traction in the wet.

Each to their own I guess... for all I know it might be perceived 'traction loss' in the wet.

You can say that the Adidas 360 Traxion is the shoe that almost 'converted' me to spikeless golf shoes, nowadays I regularly wear spikeless shoes and miss the versatility when I have to play a round of golf without them.

Although now a few seasons old, the 360 Traxion by Adidas can comfortably perform alongside some of the newer golf shoes in the market. Very popular on and off the course, the excellent levels of traction and support, make the 360 Traxion one of the best-value spikeless golf shoes on the market as you should be able to get them at discounted prices. Golfers with wide feet are well suited to the 360 Traxion.

Delivers superb performance, thanks to the familiar Adidas tech like Bounce and Traxion that uses durable, lightweight and extremely comfortable materials, allowing you to grip greens and fairways with confidence.
